Renwick

Renwick is our 0 gauge layout which depicts a small North Eastern Railway branch terminus in its later days.

Renwick in action in the club rooms:

The small station is based on that at Gilsland and typical North Eastern Railway features abound, such as the goods shed and coal drops.  Buildings have been shown made of red sandstone setting the area towards Carlisle.

The bay platform serves a smaller branch from another railway company.  There is also a typical Tyne Valley pigeon loft!  The Peco turnouts are operated by push/pull rods from either the front or back of the layout.  These also operate switches to control the electrics.

A local freight passes the signal box as it leaves Renwick.  In the background the station and goods shed are visible.

A J39 locomotive leaves Renwick with a mixed van goods train.
